Asus has unveiled new additions to its Chromebook lineup, including the Chromebook CX14 and CX15 series. These models are powered by Intel Celeron processors and are available in two screen sizes: 14-inch and 15-inch. The Chromebooks feature full HD screens and a 180-degree "lay-flat" hinge design, offering flexibility for users.
Asus Chromebook CX14 and CX15 Specifications
The Chromebook CX14 comes with a 14.0-inch full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) IPS screen, offering 300 nits of peak brightness and 45% NTSC color gamut coverage. The CX15 variant has a slightly larger 15.6-inch full HD display with the same specs. Both models are equipped with the Intel Celeron Processor N4500, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 256GB of eMMC storage. They also feature a Titan C security chip to enhance data protection.
For connectivity, the Chromebooks offer various options, including a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.2 support, HDMI 1.4b, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, a headphone jack, and a Kensington Lock. Both models also support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. The laptops come with dual 2W stereo speakers and dual microphones, along with Google Assistant support. The CX14 features a 42Wh battery, while the CX15 comes with a larger 50Wh battery, both supporting USB Type-C charging.
Chromebook Plus Models with Enhanced Features
Alongside the standard models, Asus introduced the Chromebook Plus series, which includes the CX14 and CX15 models powered by up to Intel Core 3 N355 processors. These processors are part of Intel's Twin Lake lineup and are supported by Intel UHD Graphics. The Plus models offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of onboard eMMC storage. They also come with Wi-Fi 6E capabilities for faster connectivity.
The Chromebook Plus models stand out by offering 12 months of the Google One AI Premium plan at no extra cost. This plan includes access to Gemini Advanced, 2TB of cloud storage, and AI-powered tools in Google’s apps like Gmail and Docs.
