The 34th match of IPL 2025 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) was set to start at 7:30 pm at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But due to rain, players and staff had to stay inside their dressing rooms, delaying the match.
RCB were looking to break their losing streak at home, while PBKS were hoping for another win after their recent victory over Kolkata Knight Riders. But the bad weather might lead to the match being washed out, disappointing fans and players.

What Are the IPL Rules for Rain-Affected Matches?
Here’s how IPL deals with matches affected by rain:

🕒 Extra 60 minutes can be added to try and finish the match.

🕛 Midnight (12 am) is the final deadline for night matches.

⏱️ Timeouts and innings breaks may be shortened to save time.

🏏 If overs need to be cut, the number of overs is recalculated based on 14.11 overs/hour.

🖐️ At least 5 overs must be played in the second innings for the match to have a result.
