Imam-ul-Haq Hit on Head, Rushed Off in Ambulance Scare

Cricket fans witnessed a frightening moment during the third ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand when Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq was struck on the head by a wayward throw. The incident occurred in just the third over of Pakistan’s innings, as Imam nudged the ball for a single. A fielder’s throw toward the bowler's end unintentionally hit Imam on the helmet, sending shockwaves through the stadium.

The left-hander immediately fell to the ground, visibly in discomfort. Medical staff rushed in, and within minutes, Imam was carefully carried off the field in a buggy ambulance, sparking concern among teammates and fans alike. Social media was quickly flooded with prayers and well-wishes from around the world, highlighting the deep connection between players and their supporters.

As per ICC concussion protocols, Pakistan will be allowed to bring in a like-for-like replacement should Imam be ruled out. Youngster Irfan Khan is likely to step in if needed.

Unfortunate moment for Imam-ul-Haq! The ball struck his helmet and got wedged inside, appearing to hit his left jaw as he attempted a quick run. He’s now off the field for medical attention. Hoping it's nothing serious and he recovers quickly!#PAKvNZ #ImamUlHaq #Cricket pic.twitter.com/iSmtF1bYPl

The unfortunate injury overshadowed what was already a tough series for Pakistan. Chasing a target of 265 in a rain-curtailed 42-over match, Pakistan looked to salvage pride after losing the series. New Zealand, led by a composed 58 from debutant Rhys Mariu and a blistering 59 from captain Michael Bracewell, had put up a strong total.

Pakistan, playing with a full-strength side in the ODIs after a disappointing T20I series loss, were expected to bounce back. Instead, they’ve struggled, and now, with Imam’s injury, things look even more uncertain
