A heated argument has broken out between Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut after an AI-generated voice of Bal Thackeray was used during a political rally in Nashik.
What Happened?
At a rally in Nashik, Shiv Sena (UBT) played a 13-minute audio clip using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to recreate the voice of Bal Thackeray, the party's late founder and a powerful figure in Maharashtra politics. The move drew strong criticism from Shinde’s side.
Eknath Shinde Reacts
Shiv Sena leader and CM Eknath Shinde said Uddhav Thackeray's party was insulting Balasaheb’s legacy for political gain. He accused Uddhav of going against his father’s ideals and said:
"If they have any shame left, they should stop such childish acts. Don’t do things that will hurt Balasaheb’s image."
Shinde also reminded everyone that he had freed Shiv Sena from the influence of Congress and that Uddhav’s group had lost both power and public support.
BJP Also Criticizes
State BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule called the AI voice stunt “childish” and unnecessary.
Sanjay Raut Hits Back
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut defended the use of AI, saying it wasn’t the first time it had been used and there was nothing new about it. He hit back at Shinde’s group, calling them a "fake Shiv Sena" and said they had no right to talk about Bal Thackeray’s legacy.
