At Star Wars Celebration, fans were treated to a first look at Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka Season 2. McCann steps into the role of Baylan following the tragic death of Ray Stevenson, who originally portrayed the character.
While McCann hasn't yet appeared on screen, the Ahsoka panel revealed an image of the actor in costume as Baylan, giving fans a glimpse of what's to come. Ray Stevenson, known for his roles in Thor, RRR, Punisher: War Zone, and Rome, passed away unexpectedly just three months before Ahsoka's premiere, leaving a noticeable gap in the series. For many, Stevenson's portrayal of Baylan was one of the standout performances of the first season.
Ahsoka series creator Dave Filoni spoke emotionally about the loss, calling Ray Stevenson not only an incredible actor but also "the most beautiful person on screen and off." Filoni acknowledged that this loss has been a major challenge in developing Season 2.
In addition to McCann's introduction as Baylan, Filoni shared some exciting news about Ahsoka Season 2. Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker, and fans can expect appearances from Admiral Ackbar, Zeb, Chopper, and more beloved characters.
Despite some struggles in its early episodes, Ahsoka's first season has been praised for its rich lore, humor, and epic battles, with many anticipating that Season 2 will continue to build on that legacy.
