GMA T.50

Why the GMA T.50 Might Be the Smartest Supercar Ever Made

The Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) T.50 is not just another flashy supercar—it’s a modern tribute to the legendary McLaren F1. But what really makes it stand out is how practical it is for everyday driving.

Car designer Gordon Murray and test driver Dario Franchitti recently discussed what makes the T.50 special. Murray said the goal was to create a supercar that’s not just fast and beautiful, but also something you’d actually want to drive every day. That includes keeping fuel costs low, making it easy to service, and even offering decent storage space.

Surprisingly, this V12-powered supercar can deliver up to 30 miles per gallon (MPG) under the right conditions. Even on regular drives, it averages over 20 MPG, which is amazing for a car with this kind of performance. On one 1,000 km road trip through mountains, it still managed 25 MPG. Thanks to its efficient design, the T.50 can go over 400 miles on a full tank.

And it’s not just about fuel economy. The T.50 also has practical ground clearance, so it can handle speed bumps and steep driveways just like a regular car—no scraping or stress. Plus, if the front lip gets damaged, only the lower part needs replacing, not the whole bumper, which saves money.

It also has modern features like high-tech LED headlights with golden heat sinks that look cool and work well too.

According to Murray, the T.50 improves on the McLaren F1 by fixing its small flaws while keeping the spirit of a true driver’s car alive. It’s not just a follow-up—it’s a better version of a classic, and perhaps the best everyday supercar ever made.
