India’s Automobile Exports Jump 19% in FY25: SIAM Report

India’s automobile exports saw a strong growth of 19% in the financial year 2024-25, reaching over 53 lakh units, according to industry body SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers).

In total, 53.63 lakh vehicles were exported in FY25, compared to 45 lakh units in FY24. This rise was driven by increased demand for passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles in global markets.

📈 Key Highlights:

  • Passenger Vehicle Exports:
Grew 15% to 7.7 lakh units, up from 6.7 lakh in FY24.
This was the best-ever performance, especially for global models made in India.
Utility Vehicles led the pack with 3.6 lakh units exported — a 54% growth.

  • Two-Wheeler Exports:
Rose 21% to 41.98 lakh units, up from 34.58 lakh last year.
This segment benefited from better demand in Africa and Latin America.

  • Three-Wheeler Exports:
Slight rise of 2%, with 3.1 lakh units shipped.

  • Commercial Vehicle Exports:
Jumped 23% to 80,986 units, compared to 65,818 units in FY24.

🌍 Why This Growth?

  • Better economic conditions in Africa and Latin America.

  • Indian vehicles are gaining popularity in neighboring and African markets.

  • Global buyers are choosing “Made in India” vehicles due to quality improvements and competitive pricing.
